How to Update Galaxy S Plus GT I9001 to CM10 Custom ROM




Its time when you change the old boring looks of gingerbread and wear the new looks of the latest jellybean for you Samsung Galaxy s Plus. The long awaited mod by cyanogen is here and is ready to rock your phone !
  1. The first thing to do is to download the update file and the Google apps package.
  2. The download link for CM10 is here.
  3. The download link for Google apps is here.
  4. Save these files to your computer.
  5. Then, connect the phone with the PC via USB cord.
  6. Copy all the downloaded files to your handset (to its SD card).
  7. Unplug the USB cord and turn off the S Plus.
  8. Enter your phone into recovery mode.
  9. You can do this by pressing on the Volume Up and Home buttons while powering on.
  10. From recovery first of all, select “wipe data factory reset” and “wipe cache partition” (this is why you need to previously backup the data).
  11. Then, return by selecting “+++go back+++”.
  12. Select “install zip from sd card” and “choose zip from sd card”.
  13. Pick the update file first, install it and then do the same for applying the Google Apps package.
  14. In the end, select “+++go back+++” and end with “reboot system now”.
There you have it guys; you are now able to use your SGS Plus once more, as it was successfully updated to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. Of course, you had to install the CM10 custom ROM on if for this, but the process wasn’t that hard after all. Now, test the new firmware and tell us how you find it.
